36 things I
like about you (a somewhat serious list for Tim)
- You don’t exaggerate.
- You have great hair.
- You have a seemingly unlimited capacity for patience no matter how much the kids or I try it.
- The wheat penny.
- That one time when I was mad at you and as you were leaving the house you kissed me on the forehead and sternly said, “I LOVE you!” as in “So there!” or “Take that!”
- Your unabashed love of food.
- You make a mean batch of chicken wings.
- And speaking of which, all hail the grill master. Best steaks of all kinds.
- Your quiet strength.
- You give good advice.
- You’ve got great shoulders for riding. Townes and Daisy told me.
- The look on your face when you met Townes for the first time.
- How you let the kids stretch themselves and you teach them every day.
- You don’t shy away from bold color choices in your wardrobe.
- The casual way you utilize the sexiest speaking voice ever
- How you’ll be endearingly embarrassed by #15.
- You are a gentleman.
- You are a gentle man.
- Also, you are a man’s man.
- You are endlessly generous with your friends.
- You maybe have the best taste in music.
- What you see is what you get.
- You can cut a rug.
- You have the memory of a pachyderm (this is also somewhat annoying at times but I think on balance it’s better than the alternative since I can barely recall what happened last week).
- Even though #24, you do misplace things in an obvious stereotypically male way and I like being able to help you out occasionally in this department.
- You do the dishes.
- You flew with the kids alone across the country and back with no drama and no complications (which raises the question – uhhhh HOW?) but this is not for us to question.
- To say you’re the most unflappable person I know would not be an exaggeration.
- That thing you do unconsciously while you’re musing over something where you pinch/rub your chin absently (also, Townes does this too).
- You’ve read (and loved!) some difficult books. Hello, Master and Margarita. Someday, I will get through this.
- You're not a pushover.
- Solid as a rock. I don’t doubt you.
- All of our firsts were perfect moments.
- Catalina.
- You asked my parents out on a double-date (bowling). It was fun!
- Daisy and Townes.
Happy Birthday daddy! We three love you endlessly!
